Third quarter offensive prowess lifted No. 1 Towson to a 14-7 win over No. 4 Monmouth. The Tigers (11-3) advanced to the CAA Championship game for the fourth time in the past five seasons.

Monmouth saw its historic season come to an end with a 6-7 record.

Joaquin Villagomez paved the way with four goals and an assist while his teammate, Mikey Weisshaar, had a game-high five assists alongside a goal.  In the cage, Matt Nilan allowed just seven goals, marking his ninth game of the season conceding single-digit tallies.

Connor Gorman and Matt Porazzo were the lone Hawks to tally multiple goals with two apiece.

The first half was all Villagomez. After scoring the first goal 70 seconds into the game, the redshirt junior continued his offensive dominance. Catching a pass from Weisshaar, the All-CAA selection slung one into the top corner to give the Tigers a 5-3 lead.

Towson’s lead stretched out to 6-3 by the end of the first half before the game opened up. Despite a quick-fire Monmouth goal from Riley Chester, the Tigers produced the 4-0  run. Roussel had two before Ronna Fitzpatrick flung the ball off his knees past the Hawks' shot stopper.

Schoonmaker scored his first goal of the season since the last time these two met in early April to push the Tigers’ advantage to 11-4 through 45 minutes.

Towson held Monmouth scoreless for the final 12:32 of the third quarter, leading to the victory.

Tommy Wilk stole the show, helping No. 3 Stony Brook earn a 9-7 win over No. 2 Drexel. The Seawolves (8-5) advanced to the CAA Championship Game for the first time since 2023, which also marked their last postseason appearance.

Drexel closed out its season with a 9-6 record, including winning all but one game in conference play.

Wilk made 16 saves, marking his 11th double-digit performance of the season and eighth in his last nine games. On the attack, Kian McCoy produced his second hat trick of the season while Sean Carlo had two for the Seawolves.

Witt Crawford was the lone Dragon with multiple goals, netting three. Brendan Donnelly had seven saves in the cage.

Wilk had his name called on multiple times in the first quarter and was resilient. Making five stops, the Stony Brook net minder kept the scoreline knotted at one, setting up Stony Brook’s run in the second.

The Seawolves pulled ahead by as many as two in the frame with Collin Williamson and Justin Bonacci finding the cage, but the Dragons didn’t back down. Owen Knight and Jack Joyner rifled in two quick tallies to re-tie the game at four heading into the final 30 minutes.

Both teams scored three each in the third, meaning it all came down to the final quarter.

McCoy signed off on his hat trick four minutes in to pull Stony Brook ahead 8-7 on the man-up advantage.

Wilk then  produced a handful of saves over the next nine minutes to keep his squad ahead, before Jack Cavalieri sealed the win with his ninth goal in as many games this season.
