Elon Takes Home Fifth CAA Women's Track & Field Title In Past Six Years

FINAL RESULTS

ELON, N.C. (May 16, 2026) –
 Elon continued its run of dominance in the CAA Women’s Track & Field Championship, claiming its fifth title in the past six years on Saturday at the Jerry and Jeanne Robertson Track and Field Complex on the campus of Elon University.

The Phoenix completed the two-day meet with 193 points, topping second-place Hampton (140) and third-place Towson (110). Finishing fourth was North Carolina A&T (102), followed by William & Mary (73), Monmouth (61), UNCW (47.5), Northeastern (41), Charleston (23.5), Stony Brook (12), Campbell (10) and Hofstra (6).

Hampton’s Brianna Charles was chosen as the Women’s Track Athlete of the Meet and Elon’s Isabella Johnson was voted the Women’s Field Athlete of the Meet.

Women’s 4x100m Relay
North Carolina A&T took over in the second leg and never looked back as the team of Zamia Stelly, Makenna Urbanek, Meara Rasul and Kymara Brodie won the event narrowly with a time of 44.63 seconds. Hampton was just behind, running 44.79, while Towson’s 45.12 time was good for third place.
 
Women’s Shot Put
Monmouth’s Julie Thomas cracked the NCAA’s top-100 performance list with a personal-best 15.34m toss to earn first. Hampton’s Rochele Solmon came in second with a 14.77m mark, while Towson’s Olamide Enajekpo rounded out the podium (14.66m).
 
Heptathlon 
Elon claimed the top two spots in the event, with Lizzie Lopez’s 4,930 point total being the most in the meet, thanks largely to three event wins. Greta Urbanavicute was second for the Phoenix after totaling 4,856 points, while Towson’s Leeann Redlo finished in third with 4,816 points.
 
Women’s 1500 Meters
Hampton’s Peninah Mutisya came from behind in the final lap of the event to take the gold medal with a 4:23.83 finish. Elon’s Abigail Beville earned second after crossing the finish line at 4:24.16. Campbell’s Emily Pierce rounded out the podium on a 4:24.98 effort.
 
Women’s 100m Hurdles
Elon’s Mia Stimpson ran a personal-best 13.62 time for first in the event. N.C. A&T’s Zamia Stelly was second with her 13.65 finish, while Hampton’s Carmen PenaSoto claimed her spot on the podium by .003 seconds (13.902), narrowly edging UNCW’s Brylee Montanari (13.905).
 
Women’s High Jump
Towson’s Leeann Redlo continued her success from yesterday’s heptathlon, winning the event with a 1.76m leap. Elon’s Hannah Schonhoff matched her, but came in second after clearing the bar on her second attempt. Charleston’s Kinsley Allen claimed the final spot after a 1.71m mark on her first attempt.
 
Women’s 400 Meters
N.C. A&T’s Serenity Brazell ran a personal-best race (53.20) to garner gold in the event. Hampton’s Arriah Gilmer was close behind with a 53.69 speed, while Towson’s Mydison Britton crossed the finished line at 54.86.

Women’s 100 Meters
Hampton’s Brianna Charles narrowly edged the short-distance event, finishing in 11.54 seconds. N.C. A&T’s Makenna Urbanek came in second with an 11.60 effort, while Northeastern’s Savannah Blair was third at 11.69.
 
Women’s Triple Jump
A&T’s Olivia Dowd retained her title in the event with an impressive 12.62m leap. Towson’s Kiara Murray notched a personal-best 12.47m performance, while Hampton’s Arden Gray flew 12.19m for third.
 
Women’s 800 Meters
Towson’s Baara Stewart set a championship meet record with her 2:05.31 performance for first place. Elon’s Jenna Gilman came in second at 2:07.28 while Hampton’s Kylee King recorded a personal-best 2:07.81 finish.
 
Women’s Discus
Hampton’s Rochele Solmon set the 2026 HBCU benchmark with her 52.79m throw to claim gold. N.C. A&T’s Taylor Reagor garnered silver with her 51.85m toss, while Elon’s Isabella Johnson rounded out the podium with her 49.56m mark.
 
Women’s 400m Hurdles
Elon’s Duna Vinals broke into the NCAA’s top-75 performances this season with her 58.37 effort. William & Mary’s Kennedy Reynolds earned second after completing the race at 59.49. UNCW’s Sadie Buchanan found her way onto the podium with a 59.53 time.
 
Women’s 200 Meters
Hampton’s Briana Charles won her second title of the day with a meet-record 23.10 effort in the 200 meters. Northeastern’s Savannah Blair ran the second-fastest time at 23.48, while A&T’s Meara Rasul crossed the finish line at 23.67.
 
Women’s 5000 Meters
Elon earned three of the four top spots in the event, with Katie Blount winning the event (17:24.65). Stony Brook’s Grace Weigele was the lone non-Phoenix on the podium after running a 17:27.33 race for second, while the Phoenix’s Jasmine Young (17:27.94) and Hannah Weber (17:29.52) took third and fourth, respectively.
 
Women’s 4x400m Relay 
Hampton’s team of Arriah Gilmer, Morgan Pruitt, Brianna Charles and Kylee King claimed the final event of the meet with a time of 3:38.94. Towson took second with a time of 3:39.99 and Elon came in third with a time of 3:40.71.
