Six-Team Field Announced For 2026 CAA Baseball Championship

RICHMOND, Va. (May 17, 2026) – The field is set for the 2026 CAA Baseball Championship, which will be held May 20-23 at Brooks Field on the campus of UNCW in Wilmington, N.C.
With the CAA moving to a divisional format this season, there was a change in the way teams were determined and seeded for the tournament. The winners of each division (Northeastern (97 RPI) and Campbell (59 RPI) earned the top two seeds, with the best RPI among the two getting the higher seed. The second-place teams in each division (Monmouth (141 RPI) and Charleston (157 RPI) were awarded the #3 and #4 seeds, with the best RPI among the two receiving the higher seed. The final two squads in the tournament field went to the remaining teams with the highest RPI’s - UNCW (125 RPI) and Hofstra (149 RPI). Since Hofstra won the head-to-head series against UNCW, it earned the #5 seed and UNCW got the #6 seed.
The six-team, double-elimination tournament opens on Wednesday, May 20 as fourth-seeded Charleston (28-26, 18-12 in CAA) meets #5 Hofstra (20-27, 14-16 in CAA) at Noon, followed by #3 Monmouth (29-21, 20-10 in CAA) taking on #6 UNCW (28-26, 16-14 in CAA) at 4 p.m.
On Thursday, action starts at 11 a.m. with an elimination game between the losers of Wednesday’s contests. Top-seeded Campbell (39-15, 26-4 in CAA) faces the lowest-seeded winner from Wednesday’s games at 3 p.m., followed by #2 Northeastern (34-19, 22-8 in CAA) against the highest-seeded winner from Wednesday’s contests at 7 p.m.
Tournament action continues with three games on Friday and another at 1 p.m. on Saturday, setting the stage for the CAA championship game set at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
