UNCW, Charleston Conclude 2026 NCAA Men’s Golf Regionals

RICHMOND, Va. – The Charleston and UNCW men's golf programs close out the 2025-26 campaign with solid efforts in the 2026 NCAA Regionals.
 
Charleston nearly punched its ticket to the NCAA Championship with a sixth-place finish at the Athens Regional, concluding the three-day event on Wednesday with an 18-under 834 at the University of Georgia Golf Club. CofC was in the hunt with five teams ranked inside the top 40, according to Clipp’d, trailing No. 13 Vanderbilt (-28), No. 36 Louisville (-26), No. 1 Auburn (-22), No. 24 BYU (-20) and No. 26 Georgia (-19) on the final leaderboard. The Cougars rallied behind Miles Eubanks and Nevill Ruiter, both of whom finished inside the top 10. The duo combined for 28 birdies through three rounds of action.
 
Eubanks shot par or better in all three rounds, finishing tied for eighth at 7-under 206. The junior notched 13 birdies in total. Ruiter unloaded a career-low 7-under 64 in his second round of action, going bogey-free on the afternoon before closing out the event at 6-under 207 for a 10th-place tie. The Cougars’ graduate student recorded the seventh-most birdies (15) in the field. Jules Lauer also carded a 1-under 212 in his first NCAA Regional appearance.
 
UNCW wrapped up the Bryan Regional at the Traditions Club at Texas A&M with a ninth-place finish on Tuesday, seeing the event seeing the event end a day early due to expected inclement weather. The Seahawks registered 46 birdies in the events, with double-digit totals coming from All-CAA First Team selections John Logan (12), James Rico (11) and Gray Mitchum (10).
 
Rico finished in a tie for 21st at 3-under, shooting a 69 in the final round to complement a combined even score through the opening two rounds. Logan closed out the tournament with a 5-under 67 in round three, sinking six birdies and going bogey-free on the back nine to finish at 3-under for the event. Mitchum broke even for the two-day event and shot his best round on Monday with a 2-under.
