WILMINGTON, N.C. (May 21, 2026) – Third baseman Jonah Oster homered and drove in two to support a strong performance from CAA Pitcher of the Year David Rossow as top-seeded Campbell battled past #6 UNCW, 3-1, in Game 4 of the CAA Baseball Championship on Thursday afternoon at Brooks Field.

The Camels (40-15), who won for the 15th time in the past 16 games, advance to the winner’s bracket final at 7 p.m. on Friday against either Northeastern or Hofstra. The Seahawks (29-27) will face #3 Monmouth in an elimination contest at 11 a.m. on Friday.

Rossow improved to 10-1 after holding UNCW to six hits and one run over 8.0 innings and striking out seven. After stranding runners on second and third in the second inning, the right-hander held the Seahawks to a pair of singles over the next five frames.

UNCW received a complete-game performance from CAA Rookie of the Year Trey Williford. The left-hander gave up three runs on five hits over 8.0 innings and fanned eight.

Campbell was limited to one hit over the first three innings by Williford but broke through in the fourth when Oster opened the frame with his 12th homer of the year to right.

The Camels added two more runs in the fifth. Mike Murphy drew a one-out walk and Lukas Schramm singled to right on a hit-and-run to put runners on the corners. Jett Music followed with a high pop-up that dropped along the right-field line and plated Murphy. Oster came through with a two-out RBI single that brought in Music and made it 3-0.

UNCW chipped into the deficit in the eighth. Pinch hitter Brady Thompson led off the inning with a single, advanced to second on a fielding error and reached third on a fielder’s choice. Trevor Lucas’ sacrifice fly to right allowed Thompson to score and trim the margin to 3-1. The Seahawks threatened to get more, putting runners on first and third, but Campbell reliever Braxton Shaffer escaped the jam by forcing a groundout. Shaffer retired the side in order in the ninth to earn his third save.

Oster finished 2-for-4 and was the only Campbell player with multiple hits. Leadoff hitter JP Pennella went 2-for-4 to lead UNCW offensively.
