CAA Well Represented at 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field East Preliminaries

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 21 2026) – Nine programs earned individual qualifiers for the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field East Preliminaries by the NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Track and Field and Cross Country Committee on Thursday Afternoon. 

Spanning across 31 events, the list is made up of 22 men and two relay teams from seven programs, while 22 women were selected from nine institutions.

For the women, defending champions Elon had a CAA-high seven qualifiers, including two in the 10000m and hammer throw. The CAA’s Most Outstanding Field Performer, Elon’s Isabella Johnson, will compete for the Phoenix in the hammer alongside teammate Adrianna Clarke. N.C. A&T qualified six individuals, while Hampton and Towson each had three. Stony Brook, Monmouth, and William & Mary will also be represented.

For the men, the Aggies had 10 athletes called on to compete alongside two relay teams. The CAA’s Most Outstanding Track Performer, Isaiah Taylor, will compete in two sprinting events (110m hurdles and 400m hurdles), both of which he podiumed at the conference championship. Hampton will be represented by six student-athletes at the competition, while a pair from Monmouth, Northeastern, UNCW, and William & Mary will also be in attendance.

The first-round competitions are scheduled for May 27-30 and will kick off at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky. The qualifiers from the site will compete in the NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships held from June 10-13 in Eugene, Oregon.
