Northeastern Draws Big 12 Champ Kansas In Opener Of NCAA Baseball Regionals

RICHMOND, Va. (May 25, 2026) – CAA baseball champion Northeastern will face Big 12 champion in the opening game of the Lawrence (Kansas) Regional at 1 p.m. (ET) on Friday.

The Huskies (38-20), who reeled off four straight victories after dropping their opening game to capture their second straight CAA title, are making their 12th appearance in the NCAA Regionals. In addition to the host Jayhawks (40-16), SEC power Arkansas (36-19) and Missouri State (34-19) will participate in the regional.

Northeastern went 1-2 in the Tallahassee Regional a year ago, earning a 4-3 win over Bethune-Cookman before falling 3-2 to Mississippi State.

Friday’s game between Northeastern and Kansas will air on ESPN+.
