Northeastern Returns To NCAAs For 12th Straight Season

BOSTON — The Northeastern women's rowing team is headed to Lake Lanier Olympic Park in Gainesville, Ga. for the 2026 NCAA Championship Regatta, set for Friday, May 29 – Sunday, May 31. The Huskies punched their ticket via the CAA's automatic bid, marking the 16th NCAA Championship appearance in program history and the 12th consecutive season the program has qualified.
 
Racing opens with heats on Friday, May 29. The first varsity eight hits the water at 10:12 a.m., with the second varsity eight following at 10:48 a.m. and the varsity four at 11:48 a.m.
 
THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. A HUSKIES' DOZEN: Northeastern captured its 12th-straight CAA Championship on Saturday, May 16 at Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J., tallying 42 points across all three scoring races. The Huskies set new CAA records in each event, crossing in 6:28.229 in the varsity eight, 6:32.594 in the second varsity eight and 7:20.309 in the varsity four.
  2. EARNING IT: Five Huskies earned All-CAA honors following the championship — Isla BathgateLiv OyenJorja ShemiltHeather Taylor and Grace Theobald. Taylor claimed the distinction for the second time in her career.
  3. NCAAs, REVISITED: Northeastern made its 11th consecutive appearance at the NCAA Championship Regatta last season, finishing 19th in the varsity eight, 17th in the second varsity eight and 20th in the varsity four. The varsity four opened with a runner-up finish in the D Final (7:27.367), while the second varsity eight crossed in 6:39.158, rowing in the C Final for the first time since 2019. The first varsity eight closed the weekend by coming from behind to win the D Final in 6:34.332, topping Boston University.
