LAWRENCE, Kan. (May 30, 2026) – Northeastern got a stellar starting pitching performance from Robbie O’Connor to defeat Missouri State, 5-1, on Saturday and remain alive in the Lawrence Regional of the NCAA Baseball Championship on Saturday afternoon.

The Huskies (39-21), who recorded an NCAA Regional win for the second year in a row, will face either Kansas or Arkansas in an elimination game at 1 p.m. (ET) on Sunday.

O’Connor (10-2) held the Bears to one run on six hits over 7.0 innings and struck out three. Andrew Rogovic and Andrew Wertz completed the victory with a scoreless inning apiece.
Harrison Feinberg went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles, while Carmelo Musacchia was 2-for-3 with a two-run homer. Freshmen AJ Aschettino and Charlie Criscola also added two hits.

The Huskies jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first on an RBI double from Matt Brinker. NU broke the game open in the sixth on Criscola’s run-scoring double and Musacchia’s two-run shot that made it 4-0.

Missouri State got on the board in the seventh, but NU added an insurance run in the ninth on an RBI double to the right-center gap by Feinberg.

The Huskies’ 10-hit performance was more than enough for O’Connor, who didn’t allow a runner to get past second base through the first six frames.
