Stony Brook to Meet Marist in Opening Round of 2026 NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championship

RICHMOND, Va. (May 3, 2026) – Stony Brook will face off against Marist on Wednesday, May 10 from Poughkeepsie, N.Y. in the Opening Round of the NCAA Tournament as announced during the NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Show on Sunday night. This marks the Seawolves’ fourth NCAA Tournament appearance and first as a member of the CAA.
The winner will advance to play No. 1 Princeton on Sunday, May 10, at 2:30 p.m.
The Seawolves are coming off their first CAA Men’s Lacrosse Championship in program history after defeating top-seeded Towson 13-11 on Saturday afternoon. Goalie Tommy Wilk, named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Performer, anchored the title run with 33 total saves across two contests, including a 17-save effort in the championship game.
Stony Brook will meet Marist for the second time this season, after the pair faced off on Long Island in a non-conference matchup on Apr. 4. Justin Bonacci was pivotal in the 14-11-win, tallying a game-best six points on three goals and three assists. The result marked the Seawolves’ 11th all-time victory over the Red Foxes, giving them an 11–7 edge in the series dating back to 1987, with the teams splitting the last four meetings.
