UNCW, Charleston To Represent CAA In NCAA Men's Golf Regionals

RICHMOND, Va. (May 6, 2026) – For the second year in a row, two CAA teams will participate in the NCAA Men’s Golf Regionals as the 81-team field was announced on Wednesday afternoon.
CAA champion UNCW received the No. 7 seed in the Bryan (Texas) Regional, while Charleston earned an at-large berth and was seeded No. 9 in the Athens, Ga. Regional. The regionals will be played May 18-20, with the top five teams in the regionals advancing to the national championship.
UNCW, which is making its 12
th NCAA Regionals appearance after capturing its ninth CAA title two weeks ago, will compete at the Texas Traditions Club. The Seahawks, who are ranked No. 40 nationally, set a conference record by shooting 38 under-par and winning the championship by an impressive 17 strokes. Leading the Seahawks are James Rico, who was the medalist at the CAA Championship after shooting 14 under-par, along with top-five finishers John Logan and Gray Mitchum.
Charleston, which received a berth in the NCAA Regionals for the fifth time in the past six years and 11
th time overall, will compete at the University of Georgia Golf Course. The Cougars, who are ranked No. 51 nationally, are coming off a third-place finish at the CAA Championship. Charleston won three tournaments this season, setting a school record for regular season wins. Leading the Cougars are Loran Appel, Nevill Ruiter and Miles Eubanks.
