UNCW's Williford Earns Freshman All-America Accolades

RICHMOND, Va. (June 11, 2026) – UNCW pitcher Trey Williford has been honored as a second-team Freshman All-American by Perfect Game.
Williford, the CAA Rookie of the Year, posted a 7-2 record with a 3.34 ERA in 2026. The left-hander started the year in the bullpen before developing into one of the league’s top starting pitchers in the second half of the season.
He set a UNCW freshman record with 89 strikeouts over 67.1 innings and was voted to the All-CAA first team and CAA All-Rookie squad. Williford ranked eighth among all freshmen nationally in hits allowed per nine innings (6.65).
