N.C. A&T and William & Mary Claim CAA Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Major Awards

RICHMOND, Va. (July 2, 2026) – N.C. A&T and William & Mary both garnered CAA Men’s Outdoor Track & Field for their performances in the 2026 season.
N.C. A&T’s
Xavier Partee was named CAA Field Athlete of the Year, while his teammate,
Isaiah Taylor, was named CAA Track Athlete of the Year. William & Mary’s
Uriah Harris claimed the CAA Rookie of the Year award while A&T’s Allen Johnson was selected as the CAA Coach of the Year.
Partee, a two-time CAA Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year, was named an honorable mention All-American in the triple jump for a second-straight campaign. The senior posted the East Region’s top qualifying mark with a personal-best 16.26m performance. The two-time CAA Field Athlete of the Week placed second at the CAA championship meet.
Taylor was a two-time first team All-American this season, claiming accolades in the 400m hurdles and the 4x400m relay. Finishing third in the 400m hurdles (49.03), the Georgia native became the first Aggie to be named a first team All-American in the event. Helping A&T win back-to-back CAA outdoor championships, the meet’s Most Outstanding Performer won three events (110m hurdles, 400m hurdles, and 4x100m hurdles) all while breaking the CAA, meet, and program record in the 110m hurdles.
Harris claimed the second CAA major award of his young career after championing the shot put (17.66m) at the conference championship. Reaching the NCAA East Region First Round in the shot put and discus, the Richmond, Va. resident cracked the nation’s top-35 in both events. Harris is the Tribe’s record holder in the shot put (18.37m) and ranks third all time in the discus (55.83m).
Johnson was unanimous selected by his peers after leading his program to a 29.33-point victory at the CAA championship. The 1996 Olympic gold medalist coached 16 NCAA qualifiers, guiding his squad to a program-best 12
th overall finish at the NCAA Track & Field Championship. With three individuals and two relay teams claiming first team All-American accolades, Johnson’s athletes earned a historic 21 points.
