Four CAA Football Defensive Standouts Chosen To Buchanan Award Preseason Watch List

RICHMOND, Va. (July 14, 2026) – Four CAA Football defensive standouts have been chosen to the 30-player preseason watch list for the Buck Buchanan Award, which is presented annually by Stats Perform to the national defensive player of the year in FCS football.
Making the list were Elon junior linebacker
Brodie Carroll, Rhode Island junior linebacker
Rohan Davy, Stony Brook senior linebacker
Anthony Ferrelli and Monmouth junior safety
Jaeden Jones.
Carroll made the All-CAA second team in 2025 after recording a team-high 104 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. Davy contributed 101 tackles, 13.0 tackles for loss, 7.0 sacks and five quarterback hurries last season to earn a spot on the All-CAA second team. Ferrelli garned second-team All-CAA honors last season after tallying a team-best 109 tackles, 6.5 tackles for a loss and an interception and a forced fumble. Jones earned AFCA second-team All-America accolades after recording a team-high 118 stops, 5.0 tackles for loss, an interception and a forced fumble.
The Buck Buchanan Award dates back to 1995 and is being presented for the 32
nd season.
