RICHMOND, Va. (July 16, 2026) – The CAA announced the 2026-27 Men’s Basketball conference schedule on Thursday.

The league campaign opens with a five-game slate on New Year’s Eve, Thursday, Dec. 31, settling into its Thursday and Saturday schedule for conference play. The CAA’s two new head coaches, Campbell’s Jimmie Williams and Charleston’s John Groce, will make their league debuts on opening night. The Camels visit Trask Coliseum to face UNCW, while the Cougars host Northeastern inside TD Arena.

Defending CAA Champion Hofstra will headline the conference’s first six-game day as it opens league action on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2027, when it takes on crosstown rival Stony Brook in Hempstead. The Pride are fresh off winning their second CAA title (2020) and making their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2001. Hampton and Towson will also commence CAA play in the new year, facing Drexel and Campbell, respectively.

CAA matchups will be available on FloHoops, CBS Sports Network and local television partners throughout the league’s footprint. In addition, the semifinals and final of the 2027 CAA Men’s Basketball Championship at CareFirst Arena in Washington, D.C., will be televised on CBS Sports Network.

Hampton and North Carolina A&T will spotlight a six-game feature on Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Monday, Jan. 18). The loaded schedule will also feature the first of two meetings between William & Mary and UNCW. The CAA regular-season champion Seahawks finished with a league-best 27-7 overall record and a 15-3 mark in CAA action. However, the Tribe notched a pair of seven-point victories over the league’s top team in 2026, being one of two CAA squads to knock off UNCW in the regular season.

A rematch of the 2026 CAA Men’s Basketball championship is slated for Feb. 13 as Hofstra heads across state lines to take on Monmouth in West Long Branch, N.J. The two programs went back and forth in the tournament finale, with neither team seeing a lead exceed seven before the Pride earned a 75-69 victory in Washington, D.C.

Southern rivals Charleston and UNCW will square off in a pair of contests, with their first meeting slated for Jan. 28 inside Trask Coliseum. The two programs will clash again nearly a month later on Feb. 27 inside TD Arena. The Cougars and Seahawks split their two contests last season, including a thrilling, one-possession season finale on March 1.

Additional regional rivalries that earn home-and-home meetings on the calendar include Stony Brook-Hofstra (Jan. 2 in Hempstead, Feb. 20 in Stony Brook); Monmouth-Drexel (Jan. 16 in West Long Branch, Feb. 6 in Philadelphia); William & Mary-Hampton (Jan. 14 in Williamsburg, March 2 in Hampton); and Elon-North Carolina A&T (Dec. 31 in Elon, Feb. 11 in Greensboro).
