Northeastern's Schlittler And Sirota Get Set For MLB All-Star Opportunity

RICHMOND, Va. (July 9, 2026) - Northeastern baseball alums Cam Schlittler and Mike Sirota will showcase their talents during Major League Baseball’s All-Star festivities in Philadelphia.

Schlittler earned his first appearance in the MLB All-Star game after a sensational season on the mound for the New York Yankees. The right-hander is 9-5 with a 2.01 ERA and has struck out 131 batters over 112.0 innings. He leads the American League in ERA and ranks second in wins and strikeouts.

Sirota was selected for the MLB Futures Game after excelling in the outfielder for the Tulsa Drillers, the AA affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Through 40 games, he is batting .324 with 10 doubles, seven homers, 26 RBI’s and 34 runs scored. On Wednesday, Sirota extended his on-base streak to 70 games, which is the longest in minor league baseball since 2014.

The MLB Futures Game will be played at Noon on Sunday, July 12 and will air on NBC. The MLB All-Star game is set for Tuesday, July 14 at 8 p.m. and will air on FOX.
