CAA Football Weekly Awards - Aug. 31

RICHMOND, Va. (August 31, 2026) – CAA Football has announced its weekly award winners for Week 0 of the 2026 season. Campbell senior quarterback Kamden Sixkiller was selected as the Offensive Player of the Week while UAlbany junior linebacker Dillon Dunathan was recognized as the Defensive Player of the Week. Maine graduate punter Anthony Pecorella earned Special Teams Player of the Week honors and Towson linebacker Seth Chestnut was named the Rookie of the Week.
CAA Football Offensive Player of the Week
Kamden Sixkiller, Sr., QB, Campbell (Norman, Okla./Norman North)
Sixkiller accounted for 438 yards of total offense and four touchdowns in Campbell’s 49-37 road win at ETSU on Saturday. The senior quarterback completed 29-of-42 passes for a career-high 343 yards and 2 TD’s and rushed for a team-best 95 yards and two scores, including a 14-yard TD run with 1:53 to play. The 343 passing yards were the 6
th-most in Campbell history and the Camels’ 514 yards of offense was their most since 2013.
CAA Football Defensive Player of the Week
Dillon Dunathan, Jr., LB, UAlbany (Damascus, Md./Damascus)
Dunathan recorded eight tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, a sack and an interception as UAlbany opened CAA play with a 28-14 win over UNH on Friday. With the Wildcats driving early in the fourth quarter, the junior picked off a pass in the end zone and returned it 24 yards. Later in the period, his 8-yard sack contributed to UNH turning the ball over on downs. UA held UNH to 297 total yards in the contest.
CAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Anthony Pecorella, Gr., P, Maine (Malverne, N.Y./Chaminade)
Pecorella averaged 41.0 yards on seven punts in Maine’s 21-18 conference road win at Towson on Thursday. The grad student kept the Tigers pinned all night, dropping four of his seven punts inside the 20-yard line. He had a long punt of 50 yards in the contest.
CAA Football Rookie of the Week
Seth Chestnut, R-Fr., LB, Towson (Sanderson, Fla./Baker County)
Chestnut tied for the team lead with seven tackles, including a team-best 1.5 tackles for loss, in Towson’s narrow 21-18 setback to Maine. He was the top performer for a Tigers’ defense that limited the Black Bears to 329 total yards and no points in the second half.
