CAA Field Hockey Weekly Awards - Aug. 31, 2026
RICHMOND, Va. -- Fairfield's
Kylie Corcoran was named the CAA Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week, while Drexel's
Halle Geiger earned Defensive Player of the Week honors. Hofstra's
Malena Bertone rounded out the Opening Week honors, earning Rookie of the Week recognition on Monday.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kylie Corcoran, Fairfield
Jr. | M/ D | Crofton, Md.
Corcoran recorded three points with a goal and an assist in the Stags' 4-0 victory over Holy Cross. The Crofton, Md., native assisted on Fairfield's opening goal before scoring off a penalty corner. She finished the match with two of her four shot attempts being put on goal.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Halle Geiger, Drexel
Jr. | GK | Townsend, Del.
Geiger recorded 11 saves across two games, including five stops against No. 13 Maryland and six saves in a 1-0 shutout victory over James Madison. Geiger finished the week with a 1-1 record, a 1.71 goals-against average and a .786 save percentage.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Malena Bertone, Hofstra
Fr. | D | Santa Fe, Argentina
Bertone scored both of the Pride's goals in a 2-1 win over Rider, recording the first two goals of her collegiate career. The freshman defender finished the week with two goals on eight shots, six of which were on target.
