Four teams open their conference schedules on Saturday as
Rhode Island hosts
Elon and
Hampton welcomes
Bryant. Home teams have a 2-1 record over the first three league contests and two of the three games were decided by seven points or less.
Five of the CAA's nine non-conference games this week are on the road against FBS opponents. Two are against SEC teams as
Campbell visits Florida and
Towson heads to South Carolina. The other three come against the MAC as
Stony Brook goes to Ball State,
Sacred Heart heads to UMass and
Monmouth is at Western Michigan.
After two weeks on the road,
Maine and
UNH play their home openers on Saturday as the Black Bears face Merrimack and the Wildcats take on Stonehill. Two other teams face in-state foes as
UAlbany visits LIU and
North Carolina A&T heads to rival North Carolina Central for the Aggie-Eagle Classic. CAA teams are 6-3 thus far against non-conference FCS competition.
