CAA Men’s Soccer Weekly Awards - Sept. 28, 2026
RICHMOND, Va. -- Charleston’s Stian Bendvold was named the CAA Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Elon’s Joe Taylor earned Defensive Player of the Week honors. Hofstra’s Ben Schulz rounded out the weekly awards, earning Rookie of the Week recognition on Monday.
OFFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Stian Bendvold, Charleston

Bendvold scored both goals in Charleston’s 2-1 upset of No. 1 South Carolina, including the game-winning goal in the 85th minute. The junior forward opened the scoring in the 28th minute before delivering the decisive goal late in the second half to secure the Cougars’ victory over the nation’s top-ranked team.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Joe Taylor, Elon
Sr. | D | Rugby, England
Taylor helped Elon to a pair of victories, including a 1-0 road win at Duke on Friday. The Rugby, England native scored the game-winning goal in the 85th minute while playing all 90 minutes on the Phoenix back line, helping limit the Blue Devils to just seven shots and secure Elon’s fourth clean sheet of the season.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Ben Schulz, Hofstra
Fr. | F | Berlin, Germany
Schulz scored his first two career goals in Hofstra’s 2-0 victory at Loyola Maryland. The freshman opened the scoring in the 25th minute before adding his second goal in the 49th minute. The performance marked the first multi-goal game of the season for the Pride and helped Hofstra secure its first shutout of the season.
