RICHMOND, Va. (Sept. 28, 2026) – Towson’s
Sophie Thibeault and
Teagan Gardner earned CAA Women’s Soccer Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively, while Northeastern’s
Lula Arcila captured her second consecutive Rookie of the Week recognition on Monday.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sophie Thibeault, Towson
Senior | Forward | Severn, Md.
Thibeault helped Towson to a 2-0 week with road wins over William & Mary and Hampton. The Tigers’ forward netted the game-winner in the team’s 2-0 triumph over the Pride, finding twine just 11:05 into the contest. The Severn, Md., product notched a goal and an assist in the team’s 3-1 victory over the Pirates. She set up Meron Koro for the opening goal in the 56th minute before sending home her third of the season in the 80th minute. Towson also moved to 3-0 in matches this season in which Thibeault registered a goal.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Teagan Gardner, Towson
Redshirt Junior | Goalkeeper | Leesburg, Va.
Gardner picked up a pair of victories, including a clean sheet, in road victories over William & Mary and Hampton last week. The Leesburg, Va., native shut out the Tribe, 2-0, making two saves in the winning effort. The Tigers’ keeper also added three stops in a 3-1 win over Hampton on Sunday. Gardner has registered three clean sheets this season.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Lula Arcila, Northeastern
Freshman | Midfielder | Miami, Fla.
Arcila picked up her second straight CAA Rookie of the Week honor after tallying a goal and an assist in Northeastern's 1-0-1 week. The Miami, Fla., product guided the Huskies’ 3-2 comeback against Charleston with a goal and an assist. The freshman midfielder provided the equalizer with 10 seconds to go in the first half, helping Northeastern deadlock the score at one at the break. Arcila went on to set up Claire Murray for the game-winner in the 62nd minute to secure three points. She was helpful in managing the neutral zone in the Huskies’ 1-1 draw against the CAA’s remaining unbeaten team, UNCW.
