Fanni Gronlund earned CAA Men’s and Women’s Golfer of the Week honors, respectively, on Wednesday.
WOMEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK

Gronlund captured her first collegiate win at the Tot Hill Farm Invitational, hosted by Charleston, with a 6-under 210. The junior helped secure the team title as the Camels were the only team to finish under par at 4-under in the field of 12, highlighted by fellow CAA competitors Charleston, Elon and UNCW. Gronlund surged out of the gate with a bogey-free, 5-under 67 in the opening round. After shooting a 1-under 71 in round two, the Finland product closed out the competition emphatically, sinking birdies on three of her final five holes to break even for the round and finishing in a tie for first with South Carolina’s Yana Beeli. Gronlund and the team’s victory also marked Head Coach Val Patino's first career win.
MEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK

Williams broke out for a top-10 finish with a 4-under 212 at the Ironwood Collegiate Classic, hosted by East Carolina. A battle on the front nine was complemented by four birdies on the back nine as the Charlotte, N.C., native finished even par in the opening round. The junior broke even again in the second round before unloading his best round on Tuesday. Williams responded to a bogey on the second hole of the day without going over the rest of the day and sank five birdies over the final 16 holes to post a 4-under 68 in round three.
