Colonial Athletic Association Weekly Women's Lacrosse Honors -- April 28, 2014
PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Kelsey Gregerson • Hofstra
Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side, Jr., Goalkeeper
Gregerson helped the Pride conclude the regular season in impressive fashion on Saturday. The junior was stone wall in the net during a clutch 10-2 victory over Drexel, making 11 saves, and not allowing a goal over the first 30 minutes of play as the Pride led 5-0 at the break. Gregerson even added a game-high six ground balls and one caused turnover. The win assured Hofstra the final spot for the upcoming CAA Championship.

Charlottesville, Va./Western Albemarle, Jr., Attacker/Midfielder
Shaffrey won her second weekly CAA honor of the season as the Tribe also found victory in the team’s regular season finale, a 16-8 triumph over Old Dominion on Saturday. The Virginia product set a new career-high with seven draw controls -- the third best single-game mark in program history -- en route to breaking the William & Mary single-season record with 54 on the year. Shaffrey also added defensive prowess with a team-high four ground balls and one caused turnover to go along with one goal in the victory.

For the second consecutive week, Junior heard her named called for earning the league’s rookie nod.
