The Colonial Athletic Association has produced a 30-minute television show previewing the upcoming CAA men’s and women’s basketball seasons. The show is expected to air on more than 25 stations along the East Coast during November and will encompass many of the nation’s leading media markets.

“With the success of our men’s and women’s basketball teams over the past couple of years, interest in CAA basketball has never been higher,” said Ron Bertovich, CAA Deputy Commissioner for Basketball. “Thanks to the excellent relationships we have developed with our broadcast partners, millions of viewers are able to enjoy over 100 CAA games each season. Hopefully this preview show highlighting our outstanding coaches and players will get fans ready for the upcoming season.”

Hosted by Scott Graham and Jody Lavin Patrick, the show includes interviews with each CAA men’s and women’s basketball coach, team previews, highlights of the top returning players on all 24 teams, a special coaches’ “Fast Break” segment and clips from the CAA Basketball Media Day in Washington, D.C.

The CAA has placed four men’s basketball teams in post-season play for the past three years. In 2006, George Mason captured the nation’s attention with its magical run to the NCAA Final Four, while Old Dominion advanced to the semifinals of the NIT. Last year, VCU pulled one of the biggest upsets of the NCAA Tournament with its 79-77 triumph over Duke.

For the first time, three CAA women’s basketball teams ? Delaware, James Madison and Old Dominion- earned berths in the NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship last March and Hofstra advanced to the quarterfinals of the WNIT.
