2008 CAA WOMEN'S LACROSSE CHAMPIONSHIP FIELD SET 4/26/2008 4:00:00 AM No. 1 seed William & Mary will host the 2008 CAA Women's Lacrosse Championship. No. 2 George Mason, No. 3 Towson and No. 4 Delaware complete the four-team field for the championship. William & Mary earned the top-seed by posting a 5-2 record in CAA play, including 3-0 over Mason, Towson and Delaware. The Tribe finished the regular season in a three-way tie for first place but earned the No. 1 seed by defeating both Mason and Towson. George Mason went 1-1 against W&M and Towson to earn the second seed. Towson was 0-2 against William & Mary and Mason.Mason advanced to the tournament after pulling out an 11-10 victory over James Madison on Saturday afternoon. The Patriots scored the first four goals of the second half to take an 11-8 lead and held off the Dukes. The game was delayed for over one hour in the second half due to lightning. Delaware advances to the championship with a 4-3 record in the CAA. The Blue Hens were tied with Hofstra, but defeated the Pride in the regular season to gain the edge in the tiebreaker.The semifinals get underway on Friday with No. 1 William & Mary taking on No. 4 Delaware at 5:00 p.m. No. 2 George Mason will face #3 Towson at 7:30 p.m. The championship game will be on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.All games will be held at Albert-Daly Field in Williamsburg, Va. Tickets will be $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for youth. Students from participating institutions will be admitted free of charge with a valid college ID.
