Santaite And Nicholson Tabbed As CAA Wrestlers Of The Week
LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. (January 31, 2012) - Fred
Santaite of Boston University and John Nicholson of Old Dominion University
have been named the Colonial Athletic Association Wrestlers of the Week for all
competition January 24-30.
Santaite, a senior from Upper
Saddle, N.J., showed why he is the top ranked 133 pounder in the CAA, winning
both of his matches last week with a first period pin.
The pair of falls gave
Santaite a perfect 10-0 record this season. He is currently ranked 10th
by Amateur Wrestling News and 15th
by InterMat and W.I.N. Magazine.
Nicholson, a sophomore 157 from
Des Moines, Iowa, won both of his matches last week to
improve to 21-5 overall. His major decision against Campbell was his 11th
of the season, most in the CAA and second most in the nation. His victory over Virginia Tech was his 11th
in a row.
