Field Hockey Player of the Week:
Kaitlyn
De Turo, Jr., Goalkeeper, Hofstra
De Turo recorded
nine saves, including seven in the second half, to lead the Hofstra Pride to a
1-0 upset victory over the 12th-ranked Boston University Terriers in Hempstead Sunday.
De Turo, who stopped a second half penalty stroke to keep the Terriers off the
board, recorded her third shutout of the season and her sixth win of the
year. She now has a 2.14 goals against
average and a .750 save percentage with 90 saves on the season. De Turo ranks
second in the CAA in saves and third in saves per game (6.43).

Field Hockey Rookie of the Week:
Lena
Wimmert, Fr., Goalkeeper, James Madison
Wimmert limited
opponents to just one goal in 140 minutes of action in a pair of games last
week. She started the week with her fourth shutout of the season in a 4-0
victory over Radford. In Madison's 1-0 loss to Duke, Wimmert turned aside 10
shots to keep the deficit and one. She finished the weekend with a 0.50 goals
against average, 10 saves on 11 shots for a .909 save percentage and one
shutout. Wimmert leads the league in goals against average (1.11) and save
percentage (.819). She also ranks second in the league in shutouts with
four.

Notes
Three CAA schools are ranked in this week's NFHCA Top 25 national
poll (Old Dominion - 9, Northeastern - 10, Drexel- 18).
Drexel recorded its fifth
shutout of the season Sunday afternoon by defeating Columbia 1-0
Old Dominion has been ranked in the top-10 of the NFHCA Top 25
poll for 17 consecutive weeks dating back to last season.
Old Dominion swept the season series against ACC foe Duke
following its 3-2 victory over the Blue Devils Sunday afternoon.
JMU's Rachel Wein recorded career-highs in goals (two), assists
(two), and points (six) in the Duke's 4-0 win over Radford Tuesday night.
Northeastern's Nicky Graham scored the game-winning goal in the
Huskies 4-3 overtime victory over No. 25 Maine. It was NU's sixth win over top
25 opponents this season.
Hofstra upset No. 12 Boston University
1-0 Sunday afternoon. The win snapped a five-game losing streak and was the
highest-ranked victory since the Pride knocked off No. 13 William & Mary in
2004. Jonel Boileau registered the game winning goal for Hofstra on a breakaway
in the 19th minute. Pride goalkeeper Kaitlyn De Turo registered nine saves in
the shutout victory.
