CAA Swimming and Diving Honors ? Oct. 2
RICHMOND,
Va. (Oct. 2, 2012) - UNCW seniors Michael Williams and Carly Tanner have been
named the CAA men's and women's swimmers of the week following top five
individual performances in last weekend's dual meets against national power
Tennessee.
Williams
was a part of two first-place medley teams. His team captured the 200-yard
medley relay with a time of 1:32.91, and the 400-yard freestyle relay with a
time of 3:07.95. The Raleigh, N.C. native also earned third-place honors in the
100-yard freestyle (47.39) and placed fifth in the 50-yard Freestyle (21.90).
Tanner
took second place in the 100-yard Breaststroke (1:06.17) and the 50-yard
Freestyle (24.17). In relay action, Tanner's team finished third in the 200-yard
medley with a time of 1:47.95 and fourth in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a
time of 3:39.13.
Tanner
and the Seahawk women return to the pool Oct. 12-13 against Old Dominion and
Richmond in Norfolk, Va. Williams and the Seahawk men will also be in action
Oct. 12-13 against the Monarchs.
