Correal garners CAA
Women's Basketball Player of the Week after averaging 25.5 points and 15.5
rebounds in a pair of outings during the opening weekend of the 2012-13 season.
The senior forward opened the weekend tying a school record with 21 rebounds
against East Carolina to go along with 24 points. She became just the third
player in Tribe history to post a 20-point, 20-rebound outing. Correal then tied a career-high 27 points
against Pittsburgh on Sunday. She shot 47.6 percent from the floor on the
weekend and 77.3 percent from the free throw line to go along with three
assists and three blocks.

Mershon was selected
as a CAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week after leading the Dragons to a
win over Big East opponent Providence, 60-50, on the road in the opening
weekend. The senior guard poured in 24 points to go along with nine rebounds
and five assists in the victory. She
shot 85.7 percent (6-for-7) from the charity stripe, helping the Dragons to an
11-for-13 showing overall. For Mershon, it was her seventh-career 20-point
effort, and her eighth double-digit scoring output in her last night games,
dating back to last season.

Jackson collected
CAA Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week honors after averaging 11.5 points
per game for the Pride in a pair of outings at the WBI Tip-Off Challenge. The
freshman shot over 43 percent from the floor (7-for-16) and 80 percent
(4-for-5) from the free throw line during 56 minutes of action. Jackson also
added four assists, two blocks and three steals for the Pride as they split in
their first two contests of the 2012-13 season.
