CAA Softball Weekly Honors - March 13
PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Erika Stasch • Towson
Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake, Sr., Outfielder
Stasch received CAA
Softball Player of the Week after leading the Tigers to a 3-2 week, including a
sweep of Columbia at home. The senior outfielder finished the week batting an
impressive .692 with nine hits on 13 at-bats. Stasch scored seven runs and tallied
seven RBI to go along. She recorded two doubles and three home runs and
advanced to first on two walks.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK:
Shelby Taylor • Drexel
Easton, Md./Easton, So., Pitcher
Taylor earned CAA
Pitcher of the Week after posting a 2-0 mark plus a save in the circle for the
Dragons with a 0.40 earned run average. The sophomore pitcher tossed 17.2
innings in four appearances allowing just one earned run (two total on the
week, both against Louisiana Tech) on 15 hits. She walked four batters and
fanned 13 at the plate. Taylor started two games and pitched one combined
shutout on the week.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK:
Morgan Heath • James Madison
Yorktown, Va./Grafton, Fr., Outfielder
Heath collected CAA Rookie of the Week accolades after batting .409 for the
Dukes as they made a west coast trip last week. The freshman outfielder hit
safely in five of her seven outings, including multiple hits in three of those
games. Heath added two runs scored, a single RBI and a stolen base for the
Dukes.
