A single by Murray put runners on the corners for Wise, who blasted a three-run homer to right-center that gave CofC its first lead of the afternoon.

The Cougars tacked on solo runs in the seventh and eighth to provide some insurance. Murray opened the seventh with a double down the first-base line and was able to score on Nick Pappas’ RBI single to center. In the eighth, Glazer legged out a leadoff triple and came home on Butler’s sacrifice fly to deep center.

Dick staked UNCW to a quick 2-0 lead in the top of the first as he belted a two-run homer to left. It was the team-leading sixth long ball of the year for the designated hitter.

After stranding four runners over the first three frames, CofC  was able to get on the board in the bottom of fourth. Designated hitter Ben Boykin hit a solo opposite field homer to left to cut the deficit in half.

The Seahawks picked up two more runs in the fifth. With two outs, Casey Golden and Terence Connelly produced back-to-back doubles to make it 3-1. An RBI single by Dick plated Connelly and upped the UNCW lead to three.
