CAA Football Week 5 Awards

RICHMOND, Va. – CAA Football announced its week five Players of the Week on Monday morning, recognizing standout student-athletes from New Hampshire, UAlbany, William & Mary and Maine.
Offensive Player of the Week
Andy Vailas | QB | New Hampshire
· Made his first start of the season against Dartmouth in place of the injured Sean Goldrich.
· Finished 17-of-26 passing for 219 yards and two touchdowns.
· Also posted a career-high 112 rushing yards on eight carries, including a pair of scores.
Defensive Player of the Week
Rayshan Clark | CB | UAlbany
· Tallied six tackles and three pass breakups in UAlbany’s win over Columbia.
· Added a sack and a forced fumble on a strip of Columbia QB Brett Nottingham, eventually leading to a Great Danes touchdown.
· Also recovered a fumble on defense in the third quarter.
Special Teams Player of the Week
Kendell Anderson | RB | William & Mary
· Forced one and recovered two fumbles on kickoff coverage for William & Mary in their overtime victory against Stony Brook.
· After the Tribe tied the game in the final minutes, forced and recovered a fumble on the ensuing kickoff, eliminating any opportunity for Stony Brook to re-take the lead in regulation.
Rookie of the Week
Nigel Beckford | RB | Maine
· Rushed eight times for 29 yards and two touchdowns in Maine’s road win at Towson.
· Both touchdowns came in the second quarter, giving the Black Bears a 20-10 halftime lead.
· Beckford’s two touchdowns marked the first scores of his career.
