Men's S&D Weekly Honors - Nov. 4
Tim McDonnell
RICHMOND, Va. (November 4, 2015) - The CAA announced on Wednesday the latest award winners in men's swimming and diving. For the second time this fall, William & Mary senior
Jeremiah O'Donnell was named Swimmer of the Week, and for the second straight week, Delaware senior
Luke Winkler captured the top diving honor.
O'Donnell continues to impress during the early portion of his senior season. He helped the defending CAA Champion Tribe improve to 4-0 on the year after W&M defeated UNCW and Delaware at the CAA POD Meet over the weekend. O'Donnell won both IM events, cruising in the 200 with a new top CAA time of 1:52.66 as well as the 400 with a time of 3:59.30 - also good for the top mark in the league so far this season. The Chapel Hill, N.C., native even added a win in the 200-yard breast, touching the wall in 2:03.79, and helped the Tribe men set a dual-meet record for the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 3:20.63.
Winkler, as mentioned, picked up his second straight weekly honor after winning both diving events over the weekend. The senior won gold on the 1-meter with a score of 291.30 and gold on the 3-meter with a score of 294.55. For his career, Winkler has now won three weekly CAA awards.
