RICHMOND, Va. – CAA Football announced its weekly awards for week three on Monday morning, honoring Towson’s Darius Victor, Stony Brook’s Victor Ochi, William & Mary’s DeAndre Houston-Carson, and Villanova’s Zach Bednarczyk.
Offensive Player of the Week
Darius Victor | RB | Towson
- Ran for a career-high 202 yards on 22 carries in Towson’s 29-26 victory over Holy Cross, averaging 9.2 yards-per-rush.
- Matched a career best with three touchdowns – all of which came in the second half after the Tigers trailed by 11 at the break.
- Currently leads CAA Football with 437 rushing yards this season.
Defensive Player of the Week
Victor Ochi | DL | Stony Brook
- Led Stony Brook with 11 tackles – including seven solos – in the Seawolves’ dominant 31-6 win over New Hampshire.
- Tallied 3.5 sacks in the contest, moving to within six of the all-time Stony Brook record.
- Anchored a defense that held nationally-ranked UNH to just 253 yards of total offense.
Special Teams Player of the Week
DeAndre Houston-Carson | S | William & Mary
- Blocked a fourth-quarter punt that resulted in a safety, igniting a comeback from William & Mary that fell just short against ACC-foe Virginia.
- Added a team-high nine tackles and an interception on defense.
Rookie of the Week
Zach Bednarczyk | QB | Villanova
- Replaced injured Villanova quarterback John Robertson midway through the fourth quarter with Nova trailing Delaware 21-14.
- Immediately threw a touchdown to put the Wildcats within one, then capped a game-winning drive with a 21-yard score and a two-point conversion on the following possession.
- Finished 4-of-6 passing for 57 yards and no turnovers, along with the 21 rushing yards.
