RICHMOND, Va. (November 21, 2016) – CAA Football tied for the national lead with four teams ranked in the FCS Top 25 national polls that were released on Monday.

James Madison moved up one spot to No. 5 in the STATS FCS Poll after a 63-14 victory over Elon that gave the Dukes a perfect 8-0 record in CAA Football play for just the second time in program history. JMU (10-1, 8-0) remained at No. 5 in the FCS Coaches Poll and earned a first round bye for the upcoming FCS Playoffs thanks to obtaining the No. 4 overall seed for the championship.

Villanova moved up to No. 9 in the STATS FCS Poll and No. 11 in the FCS Coaches Poll after ending the regular season with a 41-10 victory over rival Delaware. The Wildcats (8-3, 6-2) also stay home for the first round of the FCS Playoffs and welcome Northeast Conference champion St. Francis (Pa.) to Villanova Stadium for a 2:00 p.m. start.

Richmond dropped five spots in both the STATS FCS Poll and the FCS Coaches Poll to No. 12 after a 34-13 loss at William & Mary. The Spiders (8-3, 5-3) still earned a postseason berth, though, and will host North Carolina A&T at Robins Stadium on Saturday in the first round of the FCS Playoffs at 2:00 p.m.

New Hampshire re-entered both polls at No. 21 in the FCS Coaches Poll and No. 22 in the STATS FCS Poll following a 24-21 road win over Maine. The Wildcats (7-4, 6-2) pushed their FCS-leading playoff streak to 13 straight years and host Patriot League champion Lehigh on Saturday, also at 2:00 p.m.

CAA Football’s four ranked teams tied with the Big Sky and Southern conferences for the aforementioned FCS lead.

In addition to the four ranked teams, UAlbany (7-4), Maine (6-5), Stony Brook (5-6) and William & Mary (5-6) were among others receiving votes.
