The Huskies, the defending CAA champions, will be making their second-straight semifinal appearance and have taken home three of the last four CAA Championship crowns. Friday’s contest against Drexel is a rematch of last year’s CAA Championship title match.

The Huskies came out firing in the second half, as 51 seconds in, Gorman netted her second of the game off a cross from Cappuzzo. The Huskies controlled the rest of the way, adding three more goals, including two off the foot of Rosenblatt, for the 6-0 victory.

Goalkeeper Nathalie Nidetch made six saves in her ninth shutout of the season while Genevieve Henderson made four saves for the Cougars.

The Tribe returns to the semifinals for the seventh straight season and for the second consecutive year as the No. 5 seed.

William & Mary (8-9-2; 3-4-2 CAA) struck 4:17 into the contest as Sami Grasso stuff in a pass from Rachel Moore. The Tribe pushed the lead to 2-0 in the 13th minute on a goal by Mackenzie Kober off an Elysse Branton setup. With poor weather conditions, play moved to the midfield for much of the half. But with just under five minutes before the break, Kylie Hegemier pulled James Madison within 2-1.

The two teams went back and forth in the second half. Moore returned the lead to two goals with her fifth strike of the season at 53:46. James Madison surged back, as sophomore Haley Crawford set up rookie Ginger Deel, who bent one under the crossbar from 25 yards out less than five minutes later. Crawford then tied the match, 3-3, at 68:07 chipping in her seventh goal of the season from 20 yards out.

In the 76th minute, Branton made long run down the right side of the field, circumvented the Dukes defense and tapped in what would prove to be the game-winner. The Tribe was able to control the rest of the way for the win.

William & Mary keeper Grace Smith made three saves as the Tribe outshot the Dukes, 10-8, and held a 7-4 advantage in corners.

James Madison finishes the season with a 9-10-0 overall record.
