Breanna Bolden were named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Women’s Basketball Players of the Week, each for the second time this season, while James Madison’s
Kamiah Smalls earned CAA Rookie of the Week honors for the fifth time.

Junior Shay Burnett surpassed the 1,000-career point mark while leading Elon to a 2-0 week. Burnett had an all-around effort last week, averaging 20.5 points on 52.0 percent shooting, 10.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists. In Friday's win over Towson, she scored a team-high 18 points to go with eight rebounds and six assists. Two days later at UNCW, Burnett had her best game of the season with a campaign-best 23 points (19 in the second half) on 8-for-14 shooting to go with 12 rebounds for her sixth double-double of the season. She also notched eight assists, barely missing the program's first triple-double.

Senior Breanna Bolden powered College of Charleston to a 2-0 week by averaging 19.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.5 steals while going a perfect 14-for-14 from the charity stripe. Bolden never left the floor in those two games. The Cougars pulled off a huge win over Drexel led by 19 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four steals from Bolden. She followed that up with 20 points, seven rebounds, four assist and three steals in the win over Towson.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK:
Kamiah Smalls • James Madison University

James Madison freshman Kamiah Smalls picked up her fifth CAA Rookie of the Week honor by averaging 11.0 rebounds, 4.5 points and 3.0 assists per game. Smalls grabbed a career-best 13 rebounds and posted six points in the win over Hofstra. She followed that up nine rebounds, three assists and two steals to help the Dukes to a win at Northeastern.
#CAAHoops – The Week that Was
All 10 teams are entering the back half of the CAA schedule with Elon remaining atop the #CAAHoops Standings in a very tight race.
Charleston (8-14; 5-6 CAA): The Cougars went 2-0 last week with victories over Drexel and Towson.
Breanna Bolden powered the Cougars once again, averaging 19.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.5 steals while going a perfect 14-for-14 from the charity stripe.
Brianna Boyd, meanwhile, averaged 13.5 points and 9.0 rebounds.
Delaware (13-9; 7-4 CAA): The Blue Hens split games last week, topping UNCW before having their six-game winning streak snapped by Drexel. Sophomore
Nicole Enabosi averaged 14.5 points and 9.5 rebounds.
Drexel (16-6; 7-4 CAA): The Dragons split games last week, falling at Charleston before picking up a dominant road win at Delaware. Senior
Sarah Curran recorded back-to-back 20 point games for the second time this season while adding 4.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.
Elon (18-5; 9-1 CAA): The Phoenix went 2-0 against Towson and UNCW to push their winning streak to five games to remain atop the league standings. Junior

Jenifer Rhodes contributed 14.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game last week.
Hofstra (9-12; 2-8 CAA): The Pride split games last week. After falling to James Madison, Hofstra put together a big comeback to defeat William & Mary and snap a six-game skid. Junior
Ashunae Durant averaged 19.0 points and 9.0 rebounds for the week, including a 23-point, 11-rebound effort against the Tribe which secured her 13th double-double of the season.
James Madison (16-6; 9-2 CAA): The Dukes went 2-0 last week with wins at Hofstra and Northeastern.
Precious Hall averaged 24.0 points per game last week, and became the eighth player in program history to record 2,000 points during her 20-point outing against the Pride. Rookie guard
Kamiah Smalls averaged 11.0 rebounds per game to help the Dukes extend their winning streak to four games.
UNCW (9-13; 4-7 CAA): The Seahawks faced two of the top-three games in the league last weekend, falling to Delaware and to Elon.
Jasmine Steele averaged 14.5 points and 6.0 assists for UNCW last week.
Northeastern (7-16; 3-8 CAA): The Huskies had a pair of tough losses to William & Mary and James Madison last week.
Claudia Ortiz continued her strong play, averaging 19.5 points and 4.5 rebounds.
Towson (11-11; 4-7 CAA): The Tigers dropped a pair of road games, falling to Elon and Charleston. Senior
Raven Bankston averaged 17.0 points and 2.5 steals per game last week.
William & Mary (14-6; 4-6 CAA): The Tribe split road games last week, notching a win at Northeastern before falling at Hofstra.
Marlena Tremba delivered 14.0 points per game last week while
Alexandra Masaquel averaged a double-double with 11.0 points and 10.5 rebounds per game.
