Four CAAFB Teams In Top 10 Of FCS National Poll

RICHMOND, Va. (September 11, 2017) – Four CAA Football teams are now ranked among the top 10 in the nation as a pair of national FCS polls were released on Monday.
James Madison remained a clear-cut No. 1 in both the STATS FCS Poll and the FCS Coaches Poll after rolling past ETSU, 52-10, in its home opener. The Dukes (2-0), who extended their nation’s-best winning streak to 14 games, entertain Norfolk State on Saturday.
Richmond, which picked up a 20-17 road win over No. 25 Colgate last week, is ranked No. 6 in the FCS Coaches Poll and No. 8 in the STATS poll. The Spiders (1-1) take on Howard in their home opener on Saturday afternoon.
Villanova, which dropped a narrow 16-13 decision at FBS foe Temple last week, slipped to No. 7 in the STATS poll and stayed at No. 8 in the Coaches’ poll. The Wildcats (1-1) are at home for the first time this season against Lafayette on Saturday.
New Hampshire, which knocked off FBS member Georgia Southern, 22-12, last week, moved up to No. 9 in the STATS FCS Poll and No. 11 the FCS Coaches poll. The Wildcats (2-0) are back on the road this Saturday at Holy Cross.
In addition to the four ranked teams, six other CAA Football squads -
UAlbany (1-1), Delaware (1-1), Stony Brook (1-1), Maine (1-1), Towson (1-1) and
William & Mary (1-1) - were among others receiving votes in at least one of the two polls.
CAA Football is 9-1 in non-conference games against FCS opponents this season and has a pair of victories over FBS foes.
