RICHMOND, Va. (October 15, 2018) – CAA Football has announced its weekly award winners for Week 7 of the 2018 season. Earning honors are Stony Brook senior running back Donald Liotine, Delaware senior linebacker Troy Reeder, James Madison sophomore punt returner/safety D’Angelo Amos and Maine freshman wide receiver Devin Young.

CAA Football Offensive Player of the Week
Donald Liotine, Sr., RB, Stony Brook (Medford, N.Y./Stony Brook School)

27725

Liotine rushed for a season-high 163 yards on 32 carries in Stony Brook’s 35-7 win at New Hampshire. With backfield mate Jordan Gowins out, the senior shouldered the load with all but five of the Seawolves’ rushing attempts and averaged 5.1 yards per carry. It was Liotine’s fourth 100-yard rushing performance in the past six games.

CAA Football Defensive Player of the Week
Troy Reeder, Sr., LB, Delaware (Hockessin, Del./Salesianum)

27726

Reeder recorded a season-high 15 tackles, a career-best 4.5 tackles for loss and a sack as Delaware knocked off No. 5 Elon, 28-16. The senior linebacker paced a Blue Hens’ defense that limited Elon to 289 total yards and held the Phoenix to their lowest point total versus an FCS foe. Reeder’s sack ended an Elon drive in the fourth quarter and clinched UD’s first win over a Top 5 team since 2010.

CAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week
D’Angelo Amos, So., PR/S, James Madison (Richmond, Va./Meadowbrook)

27727

Amos returned three punts for a CAA-record 183 yards and two touchdowns in James Madison’s 37-0 victory at Villanova. The sophomore found the end zone twice in a 2:10 span of the third quarter, tying a school record with an 89-yard return followed by an 81-yard return. Amos has three punt returns for TD’s this season and leads the nation in punt return average (30.1 avg).

CAA Football Rookie of the Week
Devin Young, Fr., WR, Maine (Binghamton, N.Y./Binghamton)

27728

Young made four receptions for 37 yards and scored his first career touchdown in Maine’s 38-36 triumph at Rhode Island. The freshman wide receiver caught a 10-yard TD pass late in the third quarter that started a Black Bears’ rally from a 30-14 deficit and also had a 28-yard grab.
