RICHMOND, Va. (October 29, 2018) – CAA Football has announced its weekly award winners for Week 9 of the 2018 season. Earning honors are Delaware junior quarterback Pat Kehoe, James Madison junior linebacker Dimitri Holloway, JMU senior kicker Tyler Gray and New Hampshire freshman running back Carlos Washington, Jr.
CAA Football Offensive Player of the Week
Pat Kehoe, Jr., QB, Delaware (Madison, Conn./Cheshire Academy)
Kehoe completed 18-of-32 passes for a career-high 305 yards and a career-best four touchdowns as No. 21 Delaware rallied past No. 10 Towson, 40-36. The junior threw TD passes of 15 and 30 yards in the third quarter to help bring the Hens back from a 15-point deficit and then hit Vinny Papale with a game-winning 3-yard TD toss with just 30 seconds to play.
CAA Football Defensive Player of the Week
Dimitri Holloway, Jr., LB, James Madison (Newport News, Va./Heritage)
Holloway recorded a career-high 18 tackles, including 2.0 tackles for loss, as No. 3 James Madison edged No. 15 Stony Brook, 13-10. The junior linebacker spearheaded a Dukes’ defense that held SBU to 120 total yards and no points in the second half. The Seawolves had scored at least 28 points against all of their FCS foes this season.
CAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Tyler Gray, Sr., PK, James Madison (Winchester, Va./Millbrook)
Attempting his first field goals in more than a year, Gray hit a pair in the fourth quarter of James Madison’s 13-10 triumph over Stony Brook. The senior connected on a game-tying 41-yarder with 13:51 remaining and then nailed a game-winning 24-yarder with 8:56 to play.
CAA Football Rookie of the Week
Carlos Washington, Jr., Fr., RB, New Hampshire (Fort Washington, Md./Riverdale Baptist)
Washington rushed for a career-high 179 yards and two touchdowns on only 17 carries in New Hampshire’s 34-0 victory at Villanova. The freshman broke loose for a 75-yard TD run on the opening play of the game, which was the longest by a UNH running back since 2012, and also had a 16-yard scoring run in the second quarter. He averaged 10.5 yards per carry.
