Elon 27, James Madison 24

Highlights

Quarterback Davis Cheek hit Avery Jones with a 15-yard TD pass with 1:17 to play to lift Elon to a 27-24 triumph over James Madison. It was the first win over a Top 5 program ever for Elon (4-1, 2-0 CAA) and ended JMU's league-record 20-game conference winning streak as well as its FCS-best streak of 19 consecutive home victories. Cheek finished 16-of-32 paassing for 286 yards and his game-winning TD pass capped a 10-play, 74-yard drive that came after the Phoenix's Jarquez Bizzell forced a fumble to end a Dukes' drive. Elon running back Malcolm Summers rushed for 186 yards on 20 carries, highlighted by a 59-yard TD scamper in the fourth quarter. JMU (4-2, 2-1 CAA) rallied from an eight-point fourth-quarter deficit and took a 24-20 lead with 7:22 remaining on a 10-yard TD pass from Ben DiNucci to Riley Stapleton. DiNucci was 24-of-41 passing for 316 yards and a TD, while Stapleton made seven grabs for 99 yards.

Towson 52, Stony Brook 28

Highlights

Towson (4-1, 2-0) recorded its second victory over a Top 15 opponent in the past three games, knocking off Stony Brook, 52-28. Quarterback Tom Flacco had another big afternoon, completing 23-of-33 passes for 319 yards and four touchdowns, three of which came in the first half as the Tigers opened up a 35-14 lead at intermission. Tigers' running back Shane Simpson returned the opening kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown and followed with an 8-yard TD run to make it 14-0 in the first quarter. Shane Leatherbury made nine catches for 129 yards. For Stony Brook (4-2, 2-1 CAA), which had its four-game win streak snapped, quarterback Joe Carbone hit 15-of-24 passes for 195 yards and 2 TD's, while receiver Marshall Ellick had five grabs for 77 yards and 2 TD's.

Maine 13, Villanova 10

Highlights

Kenny Doak booted a career-long 52-yard field goal as time expired to send Maine (3-2, 2-0 CAA) past Villanova, 13-10. The field goal capped a 9-play, 48-yard drive by the Black Bears. The contest was tied 3-3 at halftime but Maine moved on top on Joe Fitzpatrick's 9-yard scoring run midway throught the third quarter. Villanova (3-3, 0-3 CAA) tied things up at 10-10 on a 2-yard TD run by Aaron Forbes with 2:07 left in the third period. Maine's Black Hole defense limited the Wildcats to 181 total yards, made two interceptions and recorded four sacks. Villanova's defense forced three turnovers with Julian Williams having an interception and fumble recovery. Maine got eight tackles and two sacks from Deshawn Stevens.

Delaware 43, Richmond 28

Highlights

Delaware (3-2, 1-1 CAA) forced six turnovers and defeated Richmond, 43-28. Blue Hens' safety Nasir Adderely picked off two passes and linebacker Colby Reeder returned a fumble 34 yards for a TD that allowed UD to grab a 16-0 advantage in the first quarter. Offensively, UD quarterback Pat Kehoe completed 11-of-20 passes for 291 yards and 2 TD's, including a 58-yard strike to Vinny Papale that gave the Blue Hens a 33-10 halftime lead. Richmond (2-4, 0-3 CAA) rallied for three touchdowns over the final 15 minutes. Quarterback Joe Mancuso was 27-of-37 passing for 489 yards and three TD's, including scoring passes of 57 and 37 yards to Cortrelle Simpson. Simpson had eight receptions for 220 yards in the contest. The victory was the 100th in the career of UD head coach Danny Rocco.

William & Mary 25, UAlbany 22

Highlights

William & Mary (2-3, 1-1 CAA) erased a 12-point deficit with two touchdowns in the final 5:17 and earned a 25-22 victory over UAlbany. Tribe quarterback Shon Mitchell hit DeVonte Dedmon with a 17-yard TD pass that made it 22-17 with 5:17 to go and then Mitchell provided the game-winning score on a 6-yard run with 50 seconds left. Mitchell was 24-of-32 through the air for 263 yards and 2 TD's, while Dedmon made seven receptions for 138 yards and 2 TD's. UAlbany (2-3, 0-2) got a big day offensively from Elijah Ibitokun-Hanks, who rushed for 221 yards on 25 carries. Wide receiver Jerah Reeves added six catches for 111 yards.

New Hampshire 28, Holy Cross 0

Senior quarterback Trevor Knight completed 22-of-38 passes for 237 yards and four touchdowns as New Hampshire (1-4) picked up its first victory of the season with a 28-0 triumph over Holy Cross. Knight, who had been out since ths season opener with a shoulder injury, tossed short TD passes to Kieran Presley and Sean Coyne to put the Wildcats up 14-0 in the first quarter and added two more in the third period to put the game away. Wide receiver Neil O'Connor had 10 receptions for 108 yards and a TD, while Evan Gray rushed for 78 yards on only nine carries. UNH's defense posted its first regular-season shutout in nearly eight years, holding Holy Cross to 233 total yards.

Rhode Island 48, Brown 0

Making his first career start, Rhode Island quarterback Vito Priore completed 19-of-25 passes for 310 yards and four touchdowns as the Rams (4-1) took home the Governor's Cup by dominating rival Brown, 48-0. Priore threw three of his scoring passes in the second quarter, hitting Aaron Parker, Isaiah Coulter and Marven Beauvais to give URI a commanding 27-0 advantage at the break. Parker finished with six catches for 108 yards and 2 TD's and Beauvais had nine receptions for 105 yards. Rhody's defense limited Brown to 127 total yards and recorded seven quarterback sacks.
