William & Mary's Boggs Named Senior CLASS Candidate
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – William & Mary senior guard Bianca Boggs was named one of 30 national candidates for the women's basketball Senior CLASS Award the award announced on Friday afternoon.
Boggs was the lone the CAA women's basketball player to be named as a candidate for the award. Along with men's basketball senior
Paul Rowley, W&M was one of three Division I schools that had a men's and women's basketball player be named as a Senior CLASS candidate.

Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School ®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.
Boggs, who leads the Tribe in points (16.4 ppg.) rebounds (8.2 rpg.), assists (5.2 apg.), this season enjoyed a breakout junior season as she became the first Tribe player in a decade to earn First-Team All-CAA honors. In addition to her first-team selection, Boggs earned a spot on the All-Defensive Team. She scored 456 points, while her 15.2 points ranked second in the CAA. Boggs added 137 rebounds (4.6 per game), 88 assists (2.9 per game), 24 blocks (0.8 per game), and 65 steals (2.2 per game). The Waldorf, Md. also added the most points in a game last year by a CAA player when she dropped a career-high 33 in the Tribe's win at St. Francis (Pa.). Boggs' junior season ranks as one of the best in single-season school history as her 25 games in double-figures rank her fifth, her 452 points rank her 10th, her scoring average is 12th, and her 155 field goals made is 15th in single-season school history. She also constructed the fifth-best double-digit scoring streak in school history when she was in double-figures in 15 straight games from Dec. 17 to Feb. 11.
For her career, Boggs now ranks 20th in school history in scoring as she became the 20th player in school history to score 1,000 career points on Tuesday against East Carolina. She also ranks ninth in steals average, 10th in 3-point field goal percentage, tied for 11th in blocked shots, 12th in steals, 13th in free throw percentage, and 14th in free throws made and assists average.
An active member of the Williamsburg community with both her team and her sorority, Boggs gives what free time she has to severing others. Working with her teammates she helps spearhead volunteering efforts with the Williamsburg Arc, which helps adults in the area with special needs. Her and her teammates volunteer by running an annual basketball clinic, working the Arc 5K walks, and then helping with Williamsburg Alzheimer's walk. With her sorority, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc, she helps raise money and supplies for the March of Dimes, participating in March of Dimes walk, worked and serviced partnered with the American Cancer Association to raise money for their Wig Program, service at local retirement homes, and cleaning up the community through Adopt-A-Spot program.
In the classroom, Boggs is set to graduate with her degree in geology this May. For her efforts, Boggs was named to the CAA Commissioner Award for her GPA after last season.
The men's and women's candidates will be narrowed to two fields of 10 finalists in February, and those names will be placed on the official ballot. Ballots will be distributed through a nationwide voting system to media, coaches and fans, who will select one male candidate and one female candidate who best exemplifies excellence in the four C's of community, classroom, character and competition.
