Moreland, who was voted 2018 CAA Defensive Player of the Year, led the league with five interceptions while leading the country with three interceptions for a touchdown. The First Team All-CAA selection is JMU's all-time leader with 18 career interceptions and has a CAA-record six pick-sixes. Moreland tallied a JMU single-season record 217 interception return yards and also ranked in the top 10 nationally with 15 passes defended. In 13 starts at corner, Moreland registered 56 total tackles to go with 7.5 for loss, 1.5 sacks, one forced fumble, one recovery, 10 pass breakups and a blocked punt.

Amos was a First Team All-CAA pick after leading the FCS with three punt returns for a touchdown and 22.0 yards per return. He's the lone CAA player to produce more than one punt return for a score, as his three matched all other players combined across the league. Amos tied program records with two punt returns for a touchdown, 183 punt return yards and a long of 89 yards on his first score at Villanova, earning National Special Teams Player of the Week distinction. He also started every game at safety, accumulating 64 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, a half sack, two fumble recoveries and six pass breakups.

From the 11 players selected, a national Offensive Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year will be announced at a later date and recognized at the NCAA Division I Championship Game in Frisco, Texas, on Jan. 5 during an on-field presentation. Last season, JMU defensive end Andrew Ankrah was voted FCS ADA Defensive Player of the Year.
