Drexel Falls to Fordham in WNIT Second Round

PHILADELPHIA (March 18, 2018) - Drexel's impressive season campaign to a close with a heartbreaking 63-60 loss to Fordham in the second round of the WNIT at the DAC. The Dragons finish the season at 27-8 overall.
It was a seesaw battle all night long. Late in the fourth quarter
, Aubree Brown tied the game at 53-53 with 2:43 remaining. Fordham opened up a 58-54 lead, but Brown cut it to two points with a lay-up. Trailing 60-58, Drexel was forced to foul with 19 seconds remianing. The Rams hit one of two free throws and handed the ball back to Drexel. Brown hit a pair of free throws with 12 seconds remaining, to pull the Dragons within 61-60, but the Rams sealed the win with a pair of Bre Cavanaugh free throws.
Bailey Greenberg led the Dragons with 20 points and six rebounds while Brown had 14 points and seven assists.
Cavanaugh led all scorers with 32 points on 11-of-19 shooting, which included six three-pointers.
