KANSAS CITY – For the second time in his Northeastern tenure, head coach Bill Coen has been honored by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) as the District 10 Coach of the Year.

Coen previously was named District 10 Co-Coach of the year following the 2012-13 season.

Earlier this season, Coen was honored as the CAA Coach of the Year for the first time in his tenure.

This season, Coen guided the Huskies to their third CAA regular season title and a 21-9 regular season record, the most regular season victories by a Northeastern squad since the 1986-87 season.

The Huskies advanced to the CAA Championship for the second time in the last four seasons while the 20-win season marked the fourth in Coen's tenure and just the 15th in program history.

Coen helped coach four different Huskies to a slew of postseason honors as Vasa Pusica led the way named to the USBWA All-District team, NABC First Team, All-CAA First Team and was the runner up for CAA Player of the Year.

Shawn Occeus was tabbed as the CAA Defensive Player of the Year while earning CAA All-Defensive Team honors, Bolden Brace was named the CAA Sixth Man of the Year and Tomas Murphy found a spot on the CAA All-Rookie Team.

Coen has coached 30 players to All-CAA honors in his 12 seasons at Northeastern.

The NABC District 10 honor is Coen's fifth overall coach of the year recognition during his 12 years on Huntington Avenue. He previously earned NABC District Co-Coach of the Year honors in 2013 and was named USBWA District I honors in 2013 and 2010, while also earning New England Division I Coach of the Year by the New England Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009.
