James Madison 38, Villanova 24

James Madison (6-1, 3-0 CAA) used big plays in the fourth quarter to earn a hard-fought 38-24 win over Villanova. Trailing 24-17 entering the fourth quarter, the Dukes got a 26-yard TD pass from Ben DiNucci to Brandon Polk to tie the game. Just three minutes later, JMU's MJ Hampton picked off his first pass and returned it 83 yards for a score. The Dukes extended their advantage to 38-24 when freshman Latrele Palmer broke loose for a 69-yard TD run. DiNucci passed for 216 yards and 3 TD's, while Palmer finished with 103 yards rushing on only 8 carries. Villanova (6-1, 3-1 CAA) was led offensively by quarterback Daniel Smith, who completed 26-of-47 passes for 387 yards and three touchdowns. Changa Hodge made eight receptions for 134 yards, including a 43-yard TD catch early in the second quarter and a 10-yard TD grab that put the Wildcats ahead 24-17 with 5:37 left in the third quarter. Defensively, JMU's John Daka had nine tackles, 5.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks and a forced fumble, while Villanova's Forrest Rhyne made 13 stops and 3.0 TFL.

Richmond 24, Maine 17

Joe Mancuso accounted for 254 yards of total offense and three touchdowns to lead Richmond (3-3, 2-1 CAA) to a 24-17 victory at Maine. Mancuso completed 14-of-24 passes for 226 yards, including a 66-yard TD pass to Keyston Fuller that put the Spiders ahead to stay, 21-17, late in the third quarter. Mancuso also ran for a team-high 28 yards and a pair of scores, while Fuller finished with three catches for 127 yards. Maine reserve quarterback Joe Fagano was 10-of-16 passing for 157 yards, highlighted by an 87-yard TD pass to Andre Miller that put the Black Bears (2-4, 0-3 CAA)  up 17-14 with 45 seconds remaining in the third quarter. Richmond's Daniel Jones sealed the victory with an interception in the end zone in the final minute. Tyler Dressler recorded a career-high 20 tackles for the Spiders.

Elon 42, Delaware 7

Davis Cheek completed 22-of-25 passes for 259 yards and a TD as Elon (3-4, 2-2 CAA) rolled past Delaware, 42-7. The Phoenix led just 7-0 at the half, but scored 21 points in a span of 6:31 of the third quarter to take control. Cheek, who was 13-of-13 through the air in the second half, connected on a 47-yard TD pass to Matt Foster to make it 14-0. DeSean McNair ran for a pair of scores for the Phoenix while Bryson Daughtry caught six passes for 93 yards and ran for a TD. Defensively, Elon limited the Blue Hens to 319 yards and forced three turnovers, including a 42-yard pick six by Greg Liggs, Jr. Delaware (3-3, 1-1 CAA) was led offensively by quarterback Pat Kehoe, who passed for 175 yards, highighted by a 38-yard scoring toss to Bryce De Maille. Cole Coleman had 16 tackles and a forced fumble for the Elon defense.

UAlbany 38, Towson 21

Jeff Undercuffler completed 23-of-30 passes for 380 yards and 2 TD's as UAlbany (4-3, 2-1 CAA) picked up a 38-21 victory at Towson. Great Danes' receivers Juwan Green (8 rec., 156 yds) and Jerah Reeves (10 rec., 143 yds) both went over the 100-yard mark for the second straight game, while Karl Mofor added 120 yards and 2 TD's on the ground. UAlbany led just 17-14 at the half, but extended the advantage on a 16-yard scoring pass from Undercuffler to LJ Wesneski and a 19-yard TD run from Mofor in the third quarter. For Towson (3-3, 2-2 CAA), Tom Flacco passed for 187 yards and 2 TD's, including a 26-yard scoring pass to Darian Street that pulled the Tigers within 31-21 late in the third quarter. Eli Mencer had five tackles, 3.5 TFL and 2.0 sacks for the Great Danes' defense, which limited the Tigers to 280 total yards.

New Hampshire 20, Stony Brook 14

Brian Espanet caught a pair of touchdown passes from Max Brosmer as New Hampshire (4-2, 3-0 CAA) extended its winning streak to four with a 20-14 triumph at Stony Brook. Brosmer, who was 16-of-26 passing for 196 yards, hit Espanet with a 15-yard scoring strike in the first quarter to make it 7-0 and the duo hooked up for a 20-yard touchdown with 9:32 remaining that put UNH ahead 17-14. Jason Hughes booted a pair of field goals, including a 42-yarder with 5:07 left. Stony Brook (4-3, 1-2 CAA) got a 15-yard TD pass from Tyquell Fields to Jean Constant in the second quarter and Ty Son Lawton capped an 87-yard drive with a 1-yard run in the third quarter that put the Seawolves ahead, 14-10. Fields finished with 180 yards through the air, while Lawton rushed for 124 yards on 23 carries. 

Virginia Tech 34, Rhode Island 17

Highlights

Rhode Island (1-5) gave ACC foe Virginia Tech a battle before suffering a 34-17 setback. Trailing 17-6 at the half, the Rams cut the deficit to three on a 9-yard TD pass from Vito Priore to Ahmere Dorsey and a two-point conversion. The Hokies tacked on a touchdown, but URI responded with a 41-yard field goal by CJ Carrick that made it 24-17 heading into the fourth quarter. Priore finished 26-of-47 passing for 286 yards and a TD, with Isaiah Coulter making nine receptions for 152 yards. Defensively, Branyan Javier-Castillo made a team-high 11 tackles.
