RICHMOND, Va. (Oct. 14, 2019) – Hofstra junior forward Sabrina Bryan has been named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while UNCW’s Sydney Schneider earned Defensive Player of the Week and Northeastern forward Nina Dooley garnered CAA Rookie of the Week accolades.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Sabrina Bryan, Hofstra
Junior | Forward | Cecil, Pa./Canon McMillan
Bryan helped Hofstra extended its unbeaten run to 10 games after wins over James Madison and Delaware. The junior posted five points on the week, beginning with the eventual game-winning goal in a 3-1 victory over James Madison. In Hofstra’s 3-2 win at Delaware, Bryan opened the scoring in the ninth minute before assisting on the equalizing goal in the 67th minute of the Pride’s eventual victory.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Sydney Schneider, UNCW
Junior | Goalkeeper | Dayton, N.J./South Brunswick
Schneider led a UNCW defensive effort that registered back-to-back shutouts against William & Mary and Drexel, giving the Seahawks a school-record five straight shutouts. Against William & Mary, Schneider made two saves in UNCW's 1-0 victory before adding two more saves in Sunday's 2-0 win against Drexel. UNCW’s 452:50 shutout streak is the second-longest in program history, just under seven minutes from matching the best streak in UNCW history.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK:
Nina Dooley, Northeastern
Freshman | Forward | Hamilton, Mass./Pingree School
Dooley led Northeastern to a key 2-1 win over visiting William & Mary on Sunday, posting her first career game with a goal and an assist. The freshman’s goal in the 39th minute tied the match at 1-1, and she notched an assist on Olivia Ware’s eventual game-winning goal in the 68th minute.
