Phillip Goodrum have been named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Men’s Soccer Offensive Players of the Week, while Seahawks senior
Mark Lindstrom earned Defensive Player of the Week and UNCW goalkeeper
Gabriel Perrotta garnered CAA Rookie of the Week accolades.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Matthew Vowinkel, Hofstra

Vowinkel continued his scoring tear, netting all five goals in a 1-0-1 week for Hofstra. In a midweek game against Binghamton, Vowinkel twice erased one-goal deficits in an eventual 2-2 draw. On Saturday night, Vowinkel posted his second hat trick in three matches, helping Hofstra secure the No. 3 seed for the CAA Championship with a 3-0 win over Northeastern. Vowinkel’s 12 goals are the most by a Hofstra player since 2006.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Phillip Goodrum, UNCW

Goodrum scored three of UNCW's four goals as the Seahawks completed the regular season with a pair of shutout victories. The senior forward recorded a brace for the second straight game with his two-goal effort against VCU before providing the game's only goal in a 1-0 double overtime victory over Elon on Saturday night. The victory completed a 7-0-2 CAA campaign for UNCW as the Seahawks became the first program to go undefeated in conference play since 2009.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Mark Lindstrom, UNCW

Lindstrom anchored the Seahawks' defensive effort that closed out the regular season with back-to-back shutouts over VCU and Elon. The senior defender played 191 minutes over the two contests and played a key role in the two victories as the Seahawks conceded just 12 shots in the two games. Lindstrom, who has started all 17 games this season, leads all UNCW field players with 1,572 minutes played this season, playing 98.6-percent of the team's minutes.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK:
Gabriel Perrotta, UNCW
Freshman | Goalkeeper | Asuncion, Paraguay/Colegio Internacional
Perrotta helped lead a UNCW defensive effort that saw the Seahawks post consecutive shutouts over VCU and Elon. Across the two wins, Perrotta made four saves, including three in UNCW’s victory over Elon to clinch the outright CAA regular season title. The freshman has posted eight shutouts this season while compiling a 0.70 goals against average with an 11-2-2 record in 15 starts.
