Brian Fobbs have been named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Men's Basketball Players of the Week, while Elon guard
Hunter McIntosh earned CAA Rookie of the Week accolades.
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK:
Nate Darling, Delaware
Junior | Guard | Halifax, Nova Scotia/DeMatha (Md.) Catholic
In a narrow 78-70 loss against No. 20 Villanova, Darling recorded a game-high 29 points, going 10-of-19 from the floor. Hitting 6-of-11 3-pointers, Darling notched his sixth game this season with 20 or more points. The junior also led the Blue Hens with a career-high five assists while playing all but 11 seconds of the game.
Brian Fobbs, Towson
Senior | Guard | Rochester, N.Y./Bishop Kearney (Genesee CC)
Fobbs recorded a career-best 33 points in Towson's 77-71 win over UMBC, the Tigers' seventh-straight win over the Retrievers. The senior knocked down 7-of-9 3-pointers, setting a SECU Arena record by a Towson student-athlete. Fobbs has scored 10 or more points in nine of Towson's 10 games this season.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK:
Hunter McIntosh, Elon
Freshman | Guard | Snellville, Ga./Greater Atlanta Christian School
In Elon's 91-60 rout of N.C. Wesleyan, McIntosh notched a team-high 15 points, going a perfect 5-of-5 from 3-point range. McIntosh's effort from deep helped the Phoenix tie a program record with 19 3-pointers, equaling the sixth-best effort in CAA history.
HONOR ROLL:
Desure Buie, Hofstra | Senior | Guard | Bronx, N.Y./Wings Academy
Buie led Hofstra to a 71-63 win over Stony Brook, posting a game-high 20 points and six assists. The senior was 6-of-14 from the field while adding two steals.
Brevin Galloway, Charleston | Junior | Guard | Anderson, S.C./Seneca
Galloway led Charleston with a career-high 22 points in the Cougars' 78-71 setback at Richmond. The junior was 10-of-17 from the floor while adding a career-high five steals.
Nathan Knight, William & Mary | Senior | Center | Syracuse, N.Y./Nottingham (Kimball Union Academy)
Knight recorded his nation-leading ninth double-double of the season on Sunday, recording 15 points and 11 rebounds in just 19 minutes as the Tribe cruised past Goucher, 90-30.
Zach Walton, Drexel | Senior | Guard/Forward | Morton, Wash./Morton
Making his first start of the season, Walton recorded a team-high 21 points in Drexel's defeat at USF. The effort was Walton's third of the season with 20 or more points.
