In a battle of Top 10 teams, Towson (3-0, 1-0 CAA) got a career-high four touchdowns from Yeedee Thaenrat and recorded a 45-23 road victory at Maine (1-2, 0-1 CAA). The Tigers held a narrow 17-16 advantage early in the third quarter, but reeled off 28 unanswered points with Thaenrat accounting for two of the four TD's. Towson quarterback Tom Flacco completed 20-of-34 passes for 232 yards and a TD and also ran for a team-high 68 yards. The Tigers' defense picked off four passes with Steven Brown leading the unit with nine stops, a tackle for loss and an interception. Maine quarterback Chris Ferguson threw for 401 yards and a TD, but had the four interceptions. Earnest Edwards caught six passes for 116 yards and a score.
Elon 42, Richmond 20

Quarterback Davis Cheek passed for 234 yards and a career-high five touchdowns as Elon (2-1, 1-0 CAA) earned a 42-20 victory at Richmond in the CAA opener for both teams. Cheek, who threw his TD's to five different receivers, hit Cole Taylor and Matt Foster with scoring strikes in the first quarter to give the Phoenix a 14-0 lead. After the Spiders closed within 14-7 on an 8-yard run by Beau English, Elon quickly regained its advantage after a 96-yard kickoff return for a TD by Shamari Wingard. Richmond never got closer than 14 the rest of the way as Cheek added two more TD tosses in the third quarter, including a 53-yarder to Kortez Weeks, who had eight grabs for 125 yards. Cole Coleman paced the Elon defense with nine tackles and an interception. For Richmond (1-2, 0-1 CAA), quarterback Joe Mancuso threw for 234 yards and two touchdowns. Keyston Fuller made eight receptions for 208 yards and a TD.
North Dakota State 47, Delaware 22

Top-ranked North Dakota State jumped out to a 27-5 halftime lead and went on to a 47-22 triumph over No. 18 Delaware. The Blue Hens (2-1) put together a pair of long scoring drives in the fourth quarter with quarterback Nolan Henderson hitting Gene Coleman with a 7-yard TD pass and connecting with Chichi Amachi on a 44-yard scoring strike. Running back Will Knight finished with a career-high 115 yards rushing on only eight carries and also made three catches for 46 yards. UD's defense was led by Kedrick Whitehead and Noah Plack with 10 tackles apiece. The top-ranked Bison piled up 490 yards of total offense with quarterback Trey Lance throwing three TD passes.
Monmouth 38, UAlbany 35 (ot)

UAlbany (1-2) overcame a 21-0 deficit to force overtime, but suffered a 38-35 setback at Monmouth. The Great Danes sent the game into the extra session when Jeff Undercuffler threw a 21-yard TD pass to Jerah Reeves with four seconds left in regulation. The Hawks were able to make a 25-yard field goal in overtime after the Great Danes missed from 39. It was a record-setting day for the UAlbany offense, which finished with 511 total yards. Undercuffler was 31-of-53 for 398 yards and four touchdowns, tying the program record for yards and TD's in a game. Receiver Juwan Green made a program-record 15 receptions for 245 yards and 3 TD's. Running back Karl Mofor added 99 yards rushing on only 12 carries. Defensively, linebacker Levi Metheny recorded a team-high 12 tackles and added an interception.
James Madison 63, Morgan State 12

Ben DiNucci completed 18-of-23 passes for 240 yards and four touchdowns as James Madison (2-1) rolled over Morgan State. All four TD passes came in the first half as the Dukes built a commanding 35-3 advantage at the break. JMU piled up 507 yards of total offense, getting 298 through the air and 208 on the ground. Six different Dukes had a touchdown reception while Percy Ageyi-Obesi picked up a pair of rushing TD's. JMU's defense allowed just three points through the first three quarters and held MSU to 337 total yards. Linebacker Dimitri Holloway had a team-high nine tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
Stony Brook 26, Wagner 10

Isaiah White rushed for a career-high 131 yards and two touchdowns on 31 carries to push Stony Brook (2-1) past Wagner, 26-10. Quarterback Tyquell Fields also had a big night offensively, completing 11-of-19 passes for a career-best 282 yards and a TD. Stony Brook held a 13-3 lead midway through three quarters when White scored both of his touchdowns in a span of 2:43 of the third quarter to take control of the game. Stony Brook's defense was outstanding, holding Wagner to 17 yards rushing, forcing two fumbles and limiting Wagner to three points over the first three quarters. Augie Contressa, Keirston Johnson and Justin Burns each had five tackles, with Burns also forcing and recovering a fumble.
William & Mary 38, Colgate 10

Freshman quarterback Hollis Mathis threw for 189 yards and a TD and added 62 yards and a score on the ground as William & Mary topped Colgate, 38-10. Mathis had a 2-yard TD run and a 27-yard TD pass to Jordan Lowery in the first quarter as the Tribe (2-1) built a 17-0 lead. The Raiders pulled within 17-10 in the third quarter, but Bronson Yoder returned the ensuing kickoff 93 yards for a TD to put W&M back in control. Owen Wright rushed for a career-high 108 yards on 16 carries and found the end zone in the fourth quarter. The Tribe defense held Colgate to only 215 total yards and intercepted two passes. Nate Atkins made a team-high seven tackles, while Isaiah Laster had six stops and an interception.
Villanova 45, Bucknell 10

Quarterback Daniel Smith accounted for 137 yards of offense and four touchdowns as Villanova improved to 3-0 with a 45-10 win at Bucknell. Justin Covington topped the 100-yard mark on the ground for the third straight game with 119 yards on only seven carries. The Wildcats' defense got on the board for the third consecutive contest as Jaquan Amos returned an interception 34 yards to give VU a 7-0 lead in the first quarter. Smith followed with a 23-yard TD strike to Todd Summers late in the first quarter and added a 3-yard scoring run early in the second. Villanova's defense gave up only three points through the first three quarters and held the Bison to 46 yards rushing. Elijah Trent had nine tackles and three pass breakups, while Amos added seven stops.
FIU 30, New Hampshire 17

New Hampshire (0-2) took a third-quarter lead, but was unable to hang on in a 30-17 setback at FIU. Freshman quarterback Max Brosmer completed 19-of-38 passes for 224 yards and two touchdowns, including an 86-yard scoring strike to Dylan Laube that put UNH on top 17-13 with 10:20 left in the third quarter. However, the Panthers scored 17 unanswered points to get the victory. Evan Gray contributed 71 yards rushing on just five carries. Cameron Brusko tallied a team-best 10 tackles for the UNH defense.
